This app was created to make running more fun and that’s exactly what it does. This app is a story based program that tells the story of a runner who is tasked with finding various supplies during an apocalyptic zombie outbreak. You can even use the supplies you collect to upgrade an in-app fort. Zombies, Run! Also has a couch to 5K program and syncs up with Spotify and other music apps so that you can listen to your own music during breaks in the story.

Most users suggest paying the $30 yearly fee (or $5.99 a month) for the MVP version. The upgraded version comes with free coaching, no ads and offers more bio tracking.

They offer 3 main trackers; one for workouts, one for nutrition and one for daily steps. They help guide you in setting an attainable goal in all three areas and offers support for those goals. 8fit includes HIT workouts, Yoga workouts and bodyweight workouts. It’s a little pricey at $60 a year, but they do offer a free trial and the app’s high ratings suggest that most people agree that the price is worth it for those services.
My Fitness Pal

My Fitness Pal has been on the market for years because it works! There is a free version that allows you to just track your calories, but the paid version is where this app really shines. After your free trial you can pay $80 a year or $20 per month. This might seem a little high, but users say this app really works! The paid version unlocks the ability to track your nutrition by protein, fat and carbs. It also gives you the option to automatically track the calories you lose during your workouts. When you first sign up, it will walk you through setting nutrition and workout goals for you and your lifestyle. It then generates workouts and recipes to help you meet those goals!
Nike Training Club

It allows you to filter workouts by muscle group, workout type and equipment required. This allows you to create the perfect personalised workout. It also comes with plans that target specific goals. Just like My Fitness Pal, you will be prompted to answer some questions about your health and what you want to improve. It then recommends single workouts as well as long term fitness plans! You get access to all of this for free. Yes I said free! The app is completely free and there is absolutely no pressure to upgrade to a ‘pro’ version.

This app is the perfect choice for people who are weight training or trying to target very specific goals.
